Waterwheel in MO.....

My husband built this 4' waterwheel for a cousin in MO.. looks beautiful in their back sloping yard... stream recycles and originates in a lake at the bottom of the slope.. green, lush.. peaceful.....

desert wildflowers, desert scene and .......

these are back in MI on one of our trips... Lake Superior at Paradise is cold and breathtaking... Taquamonon Falls is a 50' drop on the Taquamonon River in the Upper Peninsula... so much beauty there.....

these are still lifes we did at a Lilli Pell workshop here in Seguin. She is wonderful and is offering us weekly lessons this fall... an opportunity not to miss...

this is a birthday card I painted of a niece, pretty auburn hair, gorgeous smile.. drawing and portraits some better, now the pull of oils begins.

here is my great grandmother and one of her daughters.. this is kinda primative looking to me now.. another sign of growth..:)

this is the Cheboygan MI Lighthouse.. I have a daughter in MI and when we travel there, we take photos for me to paint later.. my watercolor is showing improvement don't you think? this was done 2000, wow does time get away..

this was a first portrait of a good friend's grandaughter.. pretty good for a start..she is wearing a wedding veil and had an impish look about her, not sure it was captured tho.. still not bad for tackling watercolor.

some of my older paintings..

this is a watercolor from 2004, quite basic. Watercolor is difficult but sooo fun, the technique is opposite of oil, which I have been working with this past year. Watercolor has a totally different quality and feel, you have to draw a good picture first (this one wasn't drawn, just added color to see what happened:) I did improve as you will see from paintings added after this... I worked on watercolors several years and oils kept calling me. I went into watermixable oils and truely love them, have been working more with them the past year or two and will show you some.. they are creamy and fun to mush around and play with. I had done acrylics earlier and they are quick drying, fun and fast to work with, but oil kept calling.. had worked with them many years ago, the old turpentine cleaning brush oils... so messy and smelly... sorry to ramble, will get on to showing you more paintings and progress... I think..:)
